Two Generations of Exceptional
Craftsmanship
ABOUT
Building is the family trade.
Chrissy grew up around construction as the daughter of a contractor. Some of her earliest education happened on jobsites watching houses take shape and learning, long before she had a vocabulary for it, that the way something is made matters.
She found her passion where design and construction overlap.
For more than twelve years, Chrissy has worked across both disciplines, and Copper & Co. grew from the conviction that they are better practiced together.
Designing while knowing how things are built changes the work. Cost becomes part of the conversation early. Complicated details can be resolved before they become problems. And when an idea emerges during construction, as good ideas often do, there is room to pursue it.
Chrissy’s role moves between the drawing table and the jobsite. She cares equally about the proportion of a room and what is happening behind its walls.
That combination is at the heart of Copper & Co.
OUR APPROACH
We build one home each year.
This is intentional.
A house of this kind asks for attention that is difficult to divide: time on site, time studying details, time finding the right materials and craftspeople, and time to reconsider something when the first answer isn't quite right.
Limiting the number of projects allows us to remain closely involved from the earliest drawings through construction.
For our clients, it means their house is not one of many moving through a production schedule.
It is the work.
PHILOSOPHY
Built for a long life.
We are less interested in what makes a house current than in what will make it timeless.
That leads us toward architecture with precedent, materials with integrity and details that have survived generations for good reason. It also leaves room for invention. The best houses have always belonged to their own time while carrying something forward from the ones that came before.
A Copper & Co. house should feel comfortable in the year it is finished.
And increasingly at home in the years that follow.
